Dr. Best is a specialist family physician/ sports physician in private practice who also serves as the Force Medical Officer of the Barbados Defense Force where he carries the rank of Major.
After completing his Undergraduate medical training at the University of the West Indies, he went on to receive a MSc in Family Medicine with distinction, followed by a Doctor of Medicine in Family Medicine. He also holds a MSc in Sports Medicine and certification in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine.
Dr. Best is presently the Chief Medical Officer for Caribbean Premier League T20 cricket tournament and sits on the Medical Advisory Panel for Cricket West Indies. He is a past President of the Barbados Sports Medicine Association. Dr. Best has served as a Barbados National team doctor for numerous tours including the 2016 Rio Olympics, World Military Games, different World Championships and numerous CAC Games and Commonwealth Games. He has also previously served as the Chief Medical Officer for a past ICC Women’s T20 World Cup as well as served a tournament doctor during the PGA Legends Tour at Apes Hill, Barbados.
